Hi all.
I got my continental speed about 2 weeks ago, only really drove it home which was about an hour and a half drive. Because of the lock down I didn't take it back out again until earlier this week. Drove it no problem. Put it back in the garage and yesterday morning the alarm started to go off. Also it now beeps intermittently when parked up and locked. Thought it might have been a low battery so took it for a half hour run around the m25 yesterday a couple of times. On the 2nd occasion the alarm started to go off as I was driving!! Since then I have been racking my brains as to what is setting it off, I had to disconnect the battery this morning as it was going off again. Only the alarm, no flashing lights. Any ideas anyone. Cheers. Tony.

I don't know if it is the same problem that I had on my Arnage which displayed similar symptoms. The problem was that in side the alarm unit is an NCD battery which is hard wired so that when the main batteries are disconnected the alarm sounds . When this battery starts to fail it sounds the alarm randomly. It requires some expertise to replace the NCD battery . I paid about £350 for a new alarm unit which did the trick!

Cheers for that. I have both batteries out on charge now. So will post if the problem goes once I have them both connected. If not I'll look into the alarm battery. Thanks again.

The GTs don’t like periods of inactivity. I was asked by a friend when he had one to look after it whilst he was on 2 weeks holiday as he realised I’d leave hooked up to a battery conditioner & also clean his car! The modern Bentleys & similar top end cars have so much tech the battery voltage drops off quite quickly so they must be driven regularly or left on a conditioner to prevent error messages on the dash.

Turns out, after I looked into putting the batteries on charge that the positive terminal wasn't on the the main battery correctly. I charged it up for 24hrs and sorted out the connection on the terminal lead. Nice and tight now. Since it's been back on the beeping has stopped and the alarm is behaving itself. I can only assume the intermittent beeping was to indicate that the battery was running down.
14v at the battery terminals too with the engine running. I will invest in a trickle charger and keep it hooked up during parking. Many thanks.
