Firstly, are they strictly necessary?

Secondly, there seem to be a number of different model numbers for post 2012 deflectors. Does anyone happen to know the difference please?

Up to about 35-40 mph it's fine without a deflector, with it windows up , above 50-110 it's just silence before even a hint of buffeting appears . The only difference I'm guessing between models would be the mounting points in the cabin may be slightly different on the later models , the internal dimensions of the cabin would be almost identical. I'd recommend getting one 100% , chalk and cheese above 50.

I would have been until lunchtime, but I cancelled the car order. Or rather I asked to suspend it and the dealer preferred to terminate.

Not sure a GTC will play well locally, when so many are losing their jobs.
