Hi All,

My first post on Pistonheads, so hello all Bentley people!! and I must say the advice and knowledge on Bentley’s on this forum is absolutely brilliant!! Particularly on the Turbo R, which although was old archive posts, has helped me enormously identify and carry out the best purchase practice.

But my real question is, as I’m about to buy my first Bentley, any accumulated wisdom on joining any of the Bentley owners clubs? Previously during my Jaguar period, I joined one of the enthusiast clubs and was very disappointed at the ‘clique’ that existed and new members were effectively sidelined.

Any opinions?????

The Bentley Drivers Club has branches all over the world, but assuming you are in the UK, we have a number of vary active regions, who put on social events every month. Turbo Rs are held in high regard, and there are plenty of owners with whom you could interact. Just go to the BDC web site, and take it from there.
I wish you all the joys of Bentley ownership.

I don't know about the UK from my experience in the US, there are very few people in these RR enthusiasts group that actually do their own work and know their cars. That's not to say that there are none, but I would not expect the level of support that you would see from a Mercedes Benz or BMW enthusiast forum.

If you are, or you can find a competent mechanic, my suggestion is build a good relationship with the parts guys at flying spares and introcar as they have an interest in selling you parts can probably give you good advice on how to trouble shoot issues.
