Faulty rain / light sensor 2011 Bentley Continental GTC

Hello folks, asking for a friend who lives in continental Europe but where the local dealer is absolutely atrocious in both getting stuff fixed and charging for it.

The sensor has stopped working and the lights no longer switch on / off automatically.

My questions are:

1. On some cars, the rain / light sensor is part of the windscreen. Is this the case for the GTC or is it simply a plug and play replacement part?

2. If we assume it is a plug and play part, once the replacement is installed, does anything have to be done to the car in terms of a reset or not?

How do you know the switch works correctly when set in “ auto “?
Test that first .
