Continental GT parking brake issue
Discussion
Just picked up my CGT from the valet to find that the parking brake light was flashing. After a couple of attempts I got the EPB to release so that I could drive, but the warning light is still on and there’s a P with a line through it in the main dash menu. Drove home and tried to reapply and release the brake to see if it was a hot brake problem, but the P flashes and the switch light also flashes. Suspect the valet might have driven with the brake applied ? Anyone know how to reset this or do I need to go to the dealer to get it looked at ?

I've had this problem twice on my 2009 coupe.
The first time a new nearside brake motor had to be fitted at a cost of £423 .
Apparently the motor housings are made of plastic, crack over time , and allow the ingress of water and dirt causing failure .
On the second occasion the offside motor threw up the same fault. I drove the car home and parked it in the garage . However , the fault had gone the next time I switched the ignition back on.
I took the car to the dealership where a technician connected up a laptop which revealed " an intermittent fault ."
The advice given was to use the transmission lock whenever possible as the EPB motors are notoriously unreliable.
Not much help to you I'm afraid , but the problem is yet another idiosyncrasy of the Continental GT.

Thanks for that, very helpful. I went back to the car an hour later and started and restarted three times. Each time there was one less warning light and now 🤞🏻there are none showing. Personally I never use the EPB, looks like I’ll need to tell the valet not to touch it as well.
