The alarm on my 2006 Arnage sounds unnecessarily on an occasional basis. The handbook does not explain how to deactivate the alarm and I would very much like to know how this may be achieved. I will be going to France soon, and would like to turn the alarm off when on board the ferry.
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can give.

I don't know how to turn it off, but I had similar issues with my '07. Replacing the left-hand battery seems to have sorted it out.

The battery is new. I now suspect that it is a function that can be turned off via the pop-up dashboard screen - which somehow does not pop-up. The car is going to Bentley Hampshire on Thursday prior to a tour of France, so hopefully they will know how to put it right. Two new tyres going on the front tomorrow.

There are numerous posts on failure of Arnage alarms on the Bentley forums.

The problem is a hard wired ncd battery in the alarm unit itself. It fails after about 10 years and should be replaced as if it leaks it can cause further damage. A skilled electronics techie may be able to replace the battery but the usual solution is a new unit. About £ 300
from memory

Interesting. You would have thought they had learned their lesson with the seat memory units on previous models.

Any idea where the alarm unit is? Mine's 12 years old now, so it's no doubt due.

Hmm... will it need re-programming after replacing the battery?
