2008 Conti Rear Demister not working
Discussion
Hi,
The rear demister on my 2008 GT Speed has stopped working. The switch lights up, but there's no heat at the window. The handbook says there are two relays and two fuses for the rear window demister. Both fuses look fine. Any ideas what else it may be? Is it likely to be a relay?
If it is a relay, I have the VW part number from the back and I can get a replacement via VW but there is a number on the front of the relay that is different from the actual part number on the back: ++08224 2B. Any ideas what this is -is it a Bentley part number for the same relay?
Thanks

I think the box that holds the demister relay is under the front passenger footwell carpet .
It’s sort of sealed ,how ever if water gets in from blocked drains or Aircon condensation issues then faults happen .
I would look there.
Mine did not work and when I took it in for a service to an Indy i mentioned this .
He did a full car diagnostic first and “ open circuit “ in that box came up
Apparently on mine someone had been in and not replaced the lid properly displacing the demister relay , he just reconnected it and correctly refitted the box lid mindful not to disturb anything .
So a cheap fix .
