2008 GT Suspension
Discussion
My 2008 GT which has covered just 23000 miles is a real pleasure to drive on motorways here in the UK , the ride quality being nothing short of excellent.
In and around cities/towns etc. however , the car does not cope well with poorer quality roads , and bangs and crashes over even small road defects.
I've tried the different suspension settings to no avail.
Tyres are Pirellis which I run at 40 psi front and 35 psi rear .
Anyone care to comment please ?

I ve just recently ( mot ) had a front nearside lower control arm replaced .
It’s made a huge improvement.
There was an insidious banging at low speeds over pots and grates etc .
Now that’s gone .
I think it’s the inner bush that goes - massive bush for the massive lump on top of it .
Pirellis
I run a set of Dunlop winter sports ,( as per the handbook spec ) the same dimensions as the B rated Pirellis.
They are a lot softer ,less harsh and quieter.Just had them put on std 19 Mulliners .
You’ve not said what dia wheels you are on ?
Had a Cayenne once came with 22 inch / 30 profile .
Got some Boggo genuine Porsche 18 ,s and fitted winters -think either 50 or 55 profile .
Again huge improvement in ride quality and noise reduction. No double glazing with the pork .
You see they nit trackday cars the Cayenne or the Conti GT .
I don,t get the pressure to max up the dia at the expense of the skinny profile in the B Luxor - barge , which let’s face it ain’t no proper sports car .
Clue is in the name - GT
Thirdly the pressures seem ok ish 40 front 35 rear .
You could try a bit less say 36/37 front and 30 rear .Of course re learn the new settings in the TPMS .

IETIS has a table of tyre pressures as below. I run 35psi front and 30psi rear.
Also I had a knock and found at some point in the cars life someone had ripped the ARB clamps off the ARB (they should be bonded) which was causing a rattle.
I believe the upper suspension joints are prone to failure (replaced mine) and I have been told the dampers can sometimes rattle internally though this doesn't impact on functionality.

The first thing to do would be try some new anti-roll bar drop links, it's a very quick job, then, if that doesn't work, perhaps try new arms with bushes. In and around cities/towns etc. however , the car does not cope well with poorer quality roads , and bangs and crashes over even small road defects.

Ah yes forgot about those, changed mine. All in all I've had to change the drop links, upper arms and ARB to get shut of rattles and knocks at the front.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Bentley-Front-A...f:0
The drop links are much cheaper from Flying Spares here. https://www.flyingspares.com/shop/bentley-continen...
