I just had my 2007 GT in the garage having work done and it seems the battery had gone flat. Picked up the car and after a short drive couldn't restart the car by button so used the key. So plugged in the charger pack which came with car showed battery empty in the morning it showed full. However same again was ok for a while then could start. Today the car wouldn't come out of 1st gear?? and no gear display on dash, stopped the car restarted and was ok again.. Could this all be linked to the battery being run flat at the garage?? If so which battery do i replace? Any help is appreciated, i hope its not the gearbox!!!

Once a battery is flattened, even after a recharge they're never as good as they were. That certainly seems to be the case here and I'm sure it takes a fairly hefty amount of juice to turn over a W12. Also, if the charger you used was just a trickle charger it wouldn't really have the oomph to charge up a flat battery overnight, they're just really for keeping batteries topped up on cars that are left for a good while.
Not sure on what might be the best one to buy as a replacement but various online places allow you to enter your registration number and then it'll present the options.

there are two batteries on these cars. if the starting battery goes flat it is possible to draw some power from the other one. this is simply achieved. instead of turning the key to the right as per normal to start, turn it to the left you should hear a click..then you should be able to start the car..very likely there will be all sorts of strange warning lights and messages..these will slowly disappear as the flat battery recovers. probably a good idea to put it on charge the next night.. This is correct. There should always be enough charge to start the car using this method. The car will Ping and beep and maybe even cut out but give it a restart and a good run and you may be lucky !Gassing Station | Bentley & Rolls Royce | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
