Bentley Conti GT Bluetooth dropping

One of my neighbours has just bought a Continental GT (2007). The Bluetooth connects to his iPhone but when the ingnition goes off and you open the door (keyless entry) the Bluetooth disconnects. When you turn ignition on and start the car again you have to press connect under the centre cubby box. Should this connect automatically to his iPhone as it does with more modern cars or do you have to press connect manually every time?
