Hi Everyone,
This is my first post on PistonHeads although I've visited these forums for many years smile
I recently traded my old 2007 Bentley Continental GT in for a 2011 Supersports. I did a 4x4 Dyno power run on the old car before trading it in, it was completely stock and still pushing 475Bhp (520Bhp new).

The Supersports feels worlds apart performance wise but a recent power run only clocked it at 533BHP & 640Nm torque (as per attached image) whereas it is apparently meant to be 621Bhp and 800Nm new. The car only has 25K miles on the clock. The guy at RGS Motorsport actually thought that was pretty good and claims he's never seen a Bentley clock anywhere near their claimed numbers........?!

So a few questions for the community:
-Is the current power and torque what one would expect of a Supersports of this age and mileage?
-The car is currently totally standard, is this a good foundation to build on and if so what performance upgrades would you recommend and in what order or priority?

I was thinking something along the lines of a BMC Air filter upgrade to improve the air intake, secondary de-cat to improve turbo response and a performance remap?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

I would think the 620 is engine bhp and 553 is at the wheels.

Right so BHP versus WHP. How well does the 553WHP compare as a ratio to claimed BHP?

Edit: after some further reading on Dynos it seems the WHP information a dyno run provides usually reads around *15 per cent less than the power measured at the engine (BHP) - this is because power is lost in the drivetrain (including clutch and transmission).
Four-wheel drive cars like the Bentley actually lose between *20-25 percent of their quoted BHP figure because of the increased friction.
So it would seem like the Supersports is actually performing far better in terms of WHP than would be typically expected.

Any advice on improving performance?

I've also got a 2011 supersport, mines a convertible, it came with a titanium quicksilver sports exhaust that apparently gives the car an extra 30 bhp, the sound is awesome, especially with the hood down.

I actually don't think you need to mess with this car, performance is unbelievable smile

Wow that really does sound fantastic!
I noticed the Supersports already sounds a lot better than my previous Continental GT but the Quicksilver sound is really something else!

I will certainly upgrade the exhaust system. Does yours have the secondary cats removed too?
Did you ever have yours remapped?

I have a 2010 GT Speed Coupe and was thinking of getting a better sounding exhaust but someone told me that the 'Speed' already has a sports exhaust.

I have a GTC supersports 2012 and have been wondering wether or not the exhaust system is stock. (I assumed that it was.) I can’t imagine swapping it out or a de-cat as it sounds so loud as it is... the car had just over 9000 miles when I got it 6 months ago and 1 previous owner so couldn’t imagine the owner having modded it with such little use and his age.... are all the SS’s very loud as standard ??
Was thinking of a remap but don’t want to start encouraging problems or have any warranty issues ... any thoughts ?
Also- anyone had any issues with theirs ?
I’m replacing the coil packs as they’ve failed and causing misfires which is common on Bentleys of certain years apparently.
Was also wondering what external media the audio accepts with the MMI cos it seems to only run a USB stick.

One of the things that I miss from my DB9 is the superb V12 burble at low revs and the Immense noise that it made when the exhaust valves opened. I appreciate that it is a Bentley and some people will disagree with what I am doing with regards to improving the 'Audio presence' of the car. There is also the Power and Torque issue with the car already around the 600bhp mark.

The car is now booked in to have the Larini 'ST2' Rear Assemblies and ActiValve System and the Larini 'Club Sport' centre section (Secondary De-Cat) with ActiValve remote to have full control over the exhaust valves. Followed by a full ECU remap will take the car over 700BHP and a Torque increase to around 630lb.ft

Keeping the original 'Speed' exhaust tips so will look the same from the outside.

I will post the Remap graphs on here once completed.

Just collected the car from DMS Automotive. Stage one complete with the Larini Acti-Valve ST2 exhaust fitted and ECU Re-Map now at 706bhp. I will post the print out shortly.

Stage 2 in a few weeks time will be the Larini centre exhaust section with secondary decat.

The car sounds awesome and fully controllable through a key fob.

Hi Everyone,
So, I just purchased a stock 2018 GTC Supersports today (710Bhp) and I'm wondering if anyone here has done any upgrades that they would recommend?

Thanks!
