Hi!

I am Pedro Gomes. I live in Portugal. I own a 1992 Mulsanne S, which has developed some engine trouble. It seeed to be running on only 7 pistons, lots of black smoke, etc.... I have been to Bentley, and several other garages in Portugal which claimed they could fix anything! Well, thousands of Euros and 4 years later, the problems were still there. To the point where I had decided to send the car to England, and change the engine....

But one mechanic came to me just a few days ago and told me: I guarantee you that we will fix up the car, or you dont pay....1 day later, and the engine is running fine! What happened? Onte of the spark plugs had the cathods against each other,,,,It was AS SIMPLE as that!

In conclusion: I have been ripped off multiple times.

But there are other troubles: The engine seals have dried out, it leaks oil, one of the chock absorbers in the back is also leaking green liquid, etc...The car was not running for 4 years.

I have decided to trust the car to this mechanic, but he needs much more information...

Doe anybody know where I can find repair manuals for the car, engine included? I have checked on the net, they ask me for more than USD 1.000 for those repair manuals!

Please help!....

Australian RR forum. They have all the documents you need on their technical resource site and are a bunch of great, helpful and knowledgeable people.

Best of luck though it doesn't sound too bad to me. Shame you have been fleeced, but it happens all the time with people who can 'repair anything' RRs and Bentleys are odd!

I have done a lot of my own work on my own Bentley Turbo R using this excellent resource. A good instinctive practical mechanic will be able to tackle most things using the guides.
