The end of the Diesel Bentagya
Discussion
Sad to hear that Bentley will quietly drop this model from the 2nd quarter of this year and it will fade into an interesting piece of Bentley's history, some will be glad Bentley's foray with the diesel engine is over for the time being but it really was an astonishing engine. It had strong sales figures compared to the W12 so is an interesting decision especially that the new V8 petrol is not much more economical then the W12.

Just a pity they don't dump the whole range, uglier than an inside out monkey to quote Clarkson..Audi should be ashamed of themselves for ever producing such an ugly car..only in MHO of course
Fortunately it's unlikely that anyone else will be interested in your opinion. dazzalse said:
Have had 2 dealers tell me now, we just ordered a new one to replace our existing one, if anything I think it will be good for residuals for the diesel.
Thanks for the reply. The diesel does provide a good saving on fuel so maybe the limited numbers should be good for residuals but if its an emissions issue then do you still think it will be good for residuals? My be it’s just a coincidence but JLR have gone to a different shift patterns to “ reflect demand “ code for our cars arn,t selling any more ?
Which means sales of diesel 4x4,s have slumped .
Bearing in mind they don,t do a Petrol Rangy - I mean the proper one ,and the rest of the range say the Evoque is also a nil Petrol modal .Hmm
Combo of public awareness to intercity health issues being planted on diesels - bit like drink driving has become a social no no .
So folks are shying away - From a diesel 4x4 - changing there old habits slowly but surely .
And - Gov policy / leaverage re Tax for the owner and emissions targets for the manufacturers
Making ownership and building them onerous .
I guess the market is driven ( excuse the pun ) more so by perception than reality.

The adjustment has come due to two factors, they were going all out to fulfill orders of the Evoque/Velar/F Pace (they'd actually upped the shifts to cope with demand) now that they're back on course & demand for ALL cars has slowed they can now return to a normal shift pattern.
The majority of they're sales are still diesel & as i said earlier they're diesel Hybrid is due for release late 2019 so there sales will still be strong.
