The 2-door coupé, as distinct from the 4-door saloon of the same name, is a fairly rare beast, so it seems amazing that one dealer has no less than five of them for sale just now:

We say it's a rare beast but it's not too difficult to source one if you want. The problem is that though it is a cool piece of kit, it is basically a two door Arnage, Arnages are no longer very appealing, and if you have got the money they are asking you can also afford a three or four year old Mulsanne which is a better car.

perhaps the Mulsanne is a better car ( though I have never read any glowing reviews about them) but the Brooklands is a car that anyone can admire - the Mulsannes looks are marmite unlike the Arnages .

While there were c.7,000 Arnages built, the number of Brooklands was c. 400, and in due course Mulsannes will be a as numerous as Arnages.

Marlow Cars are known for being 'specialists' in Brooklands coupes, so it's not really that surprising they have so many smile

Actually the Brooklands 2 door Coupe is an Azure with a fixed roof. Only 84 RHD were made in 2009 and most went to Australia, S Africa, Japan, etc, where they drive in the 'proper' side of the road.

The car is very elegant in shape and is the spiritual successor to the original Continentals and the Conti R.

It is very much a hand built vehicle. All the panels are individual and are trimmed to suit to get the correct panel gaps - it does not have a modern 'body-in white' dropped onto the sub-frames, so a great deal of hand assembly. 0 to 60 in 5 secs in not too shabby for a car weighing 2.5 Tonnes.

The rear screen is pretty unique in that it is 'floating', IE, no supporting bar underneath, being held in place by the roof panel.

I am sure that, given the passage of time, it will become a future classic, just like the Conti S1's.

At the current price levels I think that they will be a great investment. they are different and have great road presence - IMHO

I agree.

I think Bentley made a mistake giving the GT the "Continental" name - until the GT, the Bentley Continental was always the most exclusive car in the range made in limited numbers, whereas the GT was a deliberately "cheaper" and mass produced car aimed at a slightly different market.

The Brooklands should have been a Continental and the GT should have been called Brooklands!

But maybe they didn't know they would make the Brooklands when they conceived the GT!

Yes I can see your line of thought ,but the GT coupe has 4 WD which makes it a more accomplished trans continental tourer .
Its a 2 door version of the saloon ( I know saloon came later back then )
They weren’t to know the phenomenal sales success and the change of demographics of the customers when they started to conceive it 2002/2003 ish .

In terms of sitting @ the top of the tree most other manufacturers like say for instance Porche and Ferrari always place the fasted most performance orientated modal at the top ,hence the
Super sports and GTR variants .

But even a boggo GT Cont will out blast the Brooklands coupe , performance wise .

It’s a close call 6 of one ,1/2 dozen of another ,the nomenclature.

How ever the B coupe ^^^ is indeed a rare find with beautiful road presence ,
It’s just the practicality of parking in busy hotel car parks or touring rural narrow roads , or storming up alpine passes etc .Opening long doors ( think Camargue coupe )
Investment - dead cert no drought about that

I was going to say that perhaps Bentley should stop recycling old names and come up with something new and original. But then the Bentayga came to mind! Maybe they would be safer sticking with the old ones!
