These have spiked my interest, but prices seem to be somewhat variable.

Does anyone have any useful tips before I jump in......

I run one of these back when they were new for 3 years, If I recall it was car number 23. I really enjoyed our ownership and did 60,000 miles in the 3 years that I owned her. I look at a few last year as I thought I might like to have one to put away in the garage, the car in question had only covered 20,000 miles and presented well from a distance but close up they do suffer rust issues, they also suffer from head gasket issues. These cars do not like sitting around for months on end and need to be used but they were a car designed in the 1970's and are very old fashioned to drive, although the Brookslands R milliner was last of line and the lost sorted of the Z class cars. 120k new....

I was thinking along the same lines, but if they don't like being left, probably not such a good idea.
