Just had a letter saying that Bentley Cardiff are closing at the end of June and transferring to Bristol. This means that if I go there I have to pay a Severn Bridge toll to bring it home!!

Would of thought the least of your worries would be the toll lol. What about the fuel ??? Seriously though, that now means if you have an Aston Martin or a Bentley, you cant get it serviced by an official franchise dealer in Wales, as Stratstone Cardiff have been stripped of their Aston dealership too. Actually the two dealerships are now next door to each other in Cribbs Causeway in Bristol. I'm guessing Aston Martin will have a service centre in the new St Athans facility that the Welsh government are paying for "my name is Bond, James Bond boyo". I've never been to Bentley Bristol (i live in Swansea) but i'm informed its very impressive. Still, a pain in the ass though Perhaps us hymn singing sheep botherers aint meant to have Bentleys or Astons, maybe a David Brown tractor ?

Welsh, then time to sell the Bentley is right now, before service costs get expensive. (sarc, as they are exceedingly expensive).

Is it that you don't like driving the Bentley?
Do you not trust it on long drives?
Or are you afraid of the extremely high cost of service?

I must be a jinx.
When I had a Ferrari Dick Lovett closed the Cardiff Franchise
When I had a Maserati Dick Lovett closed the Cardiff Franchise
I bought a Mazda MX5 from Stratstones Aston Martin and they closed as well!!!
I bought a Mercedes from Sinclairs Cardiff Mercedes and they haven't closed unfortunately! Worst dealers on the planet!

With a bit of luck some of the Cardiff Bentley boys will set up as Indies.

Why Mercedes has allowed Sinclair to become the only official franchise in the West is beyond me. Though, speak as you find, Sinclair Bridgend were very good on servicing ,maintaining my wifes SL

sorry to jump in here but im from South Wales and will be using Sinclair Cardiff Gate to do the big service on my C63 (6.2). What is it that you wasn't happy with regarding their service out of curiosity.. what should i be looking for? Feel free to drop me a message if you prefer!

thanks

I had a problem with Sinclair Cardiff who used to service my wife's A Class.
I had booked it in for service and was held up at their service desk for about 20 minutes while they booked in other customers. When I eventually got to the desk and booked in I was told that the courtesy lift back to my home which I had booked with the service had left and if I took a seat they could take me back in two hours!! Neither I or the car waited.
I have since taken it to Stuttgart Garage in Pontypridd, a highly regarded indie who only deal with Mercs. They have all the kit and even pick up and deliver the car. Highly recommended

Irfan, i didnt have a problem with Sinclair Bridgend, exactly the opposite, found them excellent. I just stated that i fail to understand why Mercedes entrusted the franchise to just one company.
i recall seeing a customer feedback report on all the Sinclair Merc franchises and Bridgend came out tops. My nearest is actually the Swansea site but the feedback for it was poor. I'm guessing Bridgend was better as it is relatively small
One fault springs to mind where aftermarket front sensors i had installed corrupted the cars can-bus system, Bridgend were on it for a couple of days before they narrowed the fault, they only charged 2 hours for that work though, a rare thing with a franchise dealer.
One thing to keep in mind, if you are a Mercedes Owners Club member, it entitles you to a discount at all Sinclair franchises, Membership is only £50 a year, the discount on your car servicing etc should easily exceed that

Just picked my Arnage T from Bentley Bristol who carried out an annual inspection as Cardiff used to do.

They provide a video of the checks and note any advisories that are necessary, change the oil and filters and check all the levels, tyres ,brake discs and pads and suspension.

All this for £500 including vat, oils, and filters.

Most impressed!!

I sold my Arnage T and bought a 2017 Maserati QP diesel and am very pleased with it.
However in December, Motorline who had the franchise for Maserati in Cardiff closed!
My experience of late with franchised dealers n Cardiff is as follows:

I had a Ferrari 456 and Dick Lovett closed the Cardiff franchise.
I had a Maserati QP and Dick Lovett closed the franchise
I had a couple of Bentleys and Bentley Cardiff went to Bristol
And now this.
If there are any dealers in Cardiff who want to see off a competitor , send me the money, I will buy one of their cars and they will disappear!!

sold your Arnage T? . it was/is a beauty.
i loved the colour on that car.

the new QP. Why? not asking in a squewed manner.

i am sure that owners go through similer car phases.
i too had a 456, still one of the most subtly design Ferraris.
