We're taking the Mulsanne over to France in June and I was wondering do I take the Eurotunnel or Ferry?

Has anyone taken a large Bentley (Turbo R, Arnage, Mulsanne etc) or Rolls on the Eurotunnel?

I've taken a LWB S Class on the Eurotunnel once before and remember it being very tight indeed in the carriage in terms of available space between car bumpers - The Mulsanne is approximately 37cm longer and I'm not sure there was that much space to spare.

I also seem to remember there being some sort of raised edges when driving down the centre track of the carriages, I don't fancy scuffing my alloys while driving through the train - Again, the Mulsanne is a couple of inches wider than my old S Class.

Has anyone experienced any issues with the Eurotunnel - Should it be OK, or do I just take the ferry for more space?

Many thanks

Allister

Book a 'high vehicle' ticket and you'll go in a carriage with a bit more space between the edges.

Thanks Stain - Have you taken the Phantom this way?

Any thoughts on the Ferry?

Hi, As mentioned book the high vehicle carriage. I've taken a LWB mulsanne through with no problems.
Enjoy the trip! No finer vehicle for it.

Thanks Gary.... Just googled it and found a video showing boarding in the higher carriage section - The gap for wheels to run in is definitely much wider.

Very much looking forward to the trip, thanks Gary..... We're flying with Emirates to Dubai in their First Class Suites within the next couple of weeks and staying in a great hotel, however, I'm more looking forward to travelling round France in the Mulsanne and staying in some excellent little B&B's

The ferry is fine but a bit of a faff waiting to get on and off. The train is so much easier and quicker. Enjoy Emirates. Make sure you have a shower onboard for the full 1st experience!

I have taken a Continental R and an Arnage on the tunnel. No problem with the tracks, just steer straight!

Thanks Stain - Yes it's an A380 so will definitely be trying the shower at 40,000ft

Used the tunnel lots of times with a Turbo R, no problems at all, not even mild anxiety.
