Arnage brake lights not working..advice please

hi,
took my 1999 Arnage for its first MOT .
failed due to the brake lights not working . this includes the 3rd brake light. they were working last night!!
i have checked the fuses and the bulbs all look ok.
i also can set the cruise control and then cut it out by pressing the brake pedal, so i presume that the brake light/pedal switch should be operative.
can i please confirm the i have checked the correct fuses,
any part number for brake light switch?
any further advice?
