Anyone know the owner of this 80 red Roller ?

If so, can you politely ask them to be a little more careful around cyclists, he overtook me very closely and clouted my bar end mirror with his last night at about 5.30 on Knutsford road near Wilmslow.

Squeezing through when there isn't any room isn't a great idea and nearly had me off.

Also, it smells like its running really rich !

Were you cycling in the middle of the road, or had you perhaps just ridden through a red light?

Were you cycling in the middle of the road, or had you perhaps just ridden through a red light?

No, in towards the left, no traffic lights on my route, I was well lit, three on the rear, two on the front and on a straight road.

It could be that as the vehicle coming from behind it was their responsibility to leave adequate rooms, perhaps, despite me being a cyclist I may not have been in the wrong.

And even if I were in "the middle of the road" or had gone through a red light (something I have never done), that is no excuse to pass so closely as you touch.

Was it me..... I'm offended by you suggesting such a thing - I hate red cars

Well perhaps he should be and should watch where he is going.

Why does having an 80s Rolls excuse you from anything ?

I would want to avoid scratches on the bodywork if I were him.

While I can't be certain what happened in this instance, from experience you tend to find with this kind of thing, that there's always two sides to every story....... The cyclists version, then the more detailed truth.

Its pretty simple,

You might be right Jacko, I don't doubt you personally - (although I do think many cyclists have a chip on their shoulder / really bad attitude).

I can only really think one of two things...... Either you did something to really P*ss him off and so he was inconsiderate by not giving you a fair amount of space, or he completely misjudged the width of the car and unintentionally came too close to you.

The latter is quite possible, these are wide cars - So if you were riding sensibly, maybe it was just a genuine mistake.
