Bentlet Wi-Fi - 4g sim in 3g hotspot
Discussion
Hi Guys
I have a 3g wi-fi hotspot in my 2016 Mulsanne Speed, although I haven't used it yet.
From what I understand I need to get hold of a 3g sim, although most sims now seem to be 4g - Can my 3g hotspot take a 4g sim?
Are 3g sims still available?
Or is my cars technology already obsolete?
Many thanks
Allister

I don't have a Bentley to hand, but if it's a 'broadband' wifi hotspot then a 'mobile Broadband' sim might be what it needs. If it's also a built-in phone then you can use a standard sim. Constraints are whether it's locked to a network, or not.
The suck-it-and see option is to try a PAYG pre-paid sim for either mobile broadband, (1st choice) or PAYG mobile phone, rather than going for a contract.
The 3G or 4G sim is a bit misleading, the 4G capability is built into the device, so a 3G-only sim will work in a 4G device, but at 3G speeds. Most mobile broadband sims will work at the device speed/available network, unless they are capped by the carrier.
Problems might occur if the Bentley hotspot needs configuring, but try a PAYG sim first.
You can try a £12.00 Three mobile broadband sim, preloaded with 3 Gigs of data, or a similar EE sim from Amazon:
