Silver shadow with Landcruiser diesel engine !
Discussion
Sorry don't know how to provide link but Hanwells in London have the above vehicle for sale for just under £15K ! ( www.hanwells.net )- (who while being a long established and respected specialist have a more of a Del Boy feel to them than other specialists ).
Why would you do that to a Roller and why would someone like Hanwells want to retail it ?? They claim it can do up to 28 MPG but why not just fit LPG system ?
Car looks good otherwise - no mention of original engine being available with it either !

The car appears to be in lovely condition, especially the interior. My guess is that the engine poped and a relacement engine was unfeasable. Toyota diesel engine certainly seems an odd choice, but at least it will not "fail to proceed"!
I wonder what arrangement there is for high pressure oil for the brakes and rear suspension? At that price, I can't see why someone would buy it, when you could pick up a nice Shadow with the correct engine. I think that will struggle to sell.
Surprise surprise , still for sale 6 months later ! what were Hanwells thinking of buying it in / taking it as trade in ?
Must be one of the most unsalable vehicles of any kind for sale on net , surely they could source an engine and fit it ? Sure the Landcruiser engine could be sold easily.

I had a VW Touareg a couple of years ago with the V10 TDI twin turbo engine - I always thought this would have made a really good donor engine for a Bentley or possibly a RR - the huge torque would have been very appropriate.
But I'm not sure about that landcruiser engine - bit of a tractor unit, dependable but rather unrefined.

no sign of price reduction to sell it , surely it would make more sense to fit a used Rolls engine in it and sell off Toyota diesel engine ?
Hanwells are the only Rolls indy you could imagine having a car like this for sale.
Think if I want diesel economy with luxury I would buy a Range Rover or a Toyota landcruiser amazon.

I'm not sure which of their stock I find more peculiar! The diesel Shadow or the 1600 mile car...to my limited brain neither are going to sell.Hanwells are the only Rolls indy you could imagine having a car like this for sale.

while I don't see the point of very low mile shadow over a well used pristine car , I am sure it will sell.
The diesel one must be one of the most unsalable cars on the net.
Think the owner was looking to retire and sell off the business itself in the late 00's but obviously had no luck or changed his mind. Met him once and wasn't impressed by his manner.

surely it will still be very noisy ? cant believe a respected RR specialist would have anything positive to say on it.
As said only somewhere like Hanwells would retail something like this . Called in there a few years ago , sales guy was sound but owner a bit abrupt. Think he had the business for sale a few years but didn't get anyone to bite.
