I seem to have bought a nice 1974 Silver Shadow with a poorly engine. Oops.

The engine in the car is a real train crash, its not going to be worth repairing.

Aside from ebay, any pointers as to where to get a decent running 6.7 engine?

I suppose I could buy a complete car and break it for spares, but that's a lot of hassle I don't need.

The obvious answer is Flying Spares in Warwickshire - may not be the cheapest, but they are a very reliable company to deal with.

Or there are other RR breakers around, such as Westminster Autos in Leeds

Westminster Autos is a good shout, engine shouldnt be expensive as its a slow moving part for the breakers (they tell me)

Thanks. As it happens the car is coming from Westminster Autos, an apparently nice Shadow 1 with dead engine. I have bought it unseen, its 250 miles away and I have an 8 week premature baby in the maternity hospital. It'll be fine!

I'll get the car delivered and then take stock with the engine.

Indeed, he has been great to deal with, car turned up at 6AM this morning on a trailer, exactly as described, thankfully not a rotten heap!

I've found an engine in a 63k mile car to go in.

Best get busy with the spanners.
