All weather cover for Arnage.

Can anyone on here provide advice on where I might be able to obtain a good quality car cover for my Arnage? I will be moving home in the near future which will result in my car being kept outside for a period of time and I want to provide the vehicle with as much protection from the elements whilst arranging for additional garaging to be constructed. I have previously kept cars under outside covers, however, I was less than impressed with protection that they afforded, particularly when subjected to heavy rainfall or high winds!

You should have one custom made as I doubt anything will fit like a glove otherwise. I use covercraft to make custom car covers for my eType and other cars.

If you don't use it too often, how about an outdoor carcoon which will benefit condition as well

I would buy an outside airchamber as outside covers do more damage due to movement,imagine 60mph wind and rain cover is moving around and scratching,i love tailormade inside covers but would never fit an outside unless you want paint correction at the end of the storage.

Thank you all for your replies. I have been considering whether, or not, I should buy a tailored "inside cover" and then place a water proof "outside cover" over it in order to lessen the risk of paint work being scratched by potential movement of the cover in the wind. Not sure if anyone else on here has experience of doing something like this, or whether it would create other problems?

Have you considered something like this which seems very reasonably priced, would avoid any risk of scratching and would be more convenient if you wanted to use the car?

Can't you rent a garage or storage place?
Everything else is a compromise.
Using indoor cover with outdoor over will only create more humidity.
Your beautiful Arnage will age rapidly kept like that.

A simple carport would be much better than any cover.

I have stored cars under cover outside, and what I have found is the Uglier the cover, the better - what I mean by this is, even the most breathable fabric in the world doesn't breathe enough sometimes (eg sudden changes in weather) and these covers that are very well tailored, and a really snug fit, whilst look better, are infact not great for air flow. They are also more costly. I have read of some people having real condensation problems.

I have used one from these people http://www.coveryourcar.co.uk/stormforce.htm and it has been absolutely fine - car remained properly dry, even during extended wet periods.

If it were possible to rent a garage this would be my preferred option, however, having looked hard to find something appropriate has been completely unproductive. I may try to talk with the guys who service my cars to see if they can help to provide me with a short term solution. I guessed that the question of humidity may arise if attempting to use an indoor and outside cover in combination. If I do have to rely on using a cover then I will attempt to locate the car in an area that has some shelter from the wind, as this was definitely the cause of micro scratching that my previous cars suffered from when stored outside.

12 pot have been giving this some thought,have you considered a portable garage its very simple you drive in and then pull the cover up over the car or it slides backwards to cover the car.Many years ago a freind of mine was having his garage rebuilt and he put his car into one of these for nearly a year and it was fantastic,you just need a level surface and your away,no paintwork damage and air can get around the car and no fuss like the airchambers etc.

Thanks for mentioning this option Simon. However, I had some good news earlier this morning, after making my situation known to Garage that look after my Arnage, it seems that they can provide me with some indoor storage for the car whilst I get matters sorted on the proposed new garage. It will mean that the car will be away for some months, nonetheless, I have decided that it is preferable for the car to be kept secure inside rather than left outside even if under a cover.

I decided to purchase one of the "storm force" covers, mentioned in one of the posts above in order to protect the car when it is stored away after Christmas and guess that I will use this in the future if ever I need to leave the car out overnight for whatever reason.
