Hi

I have bought myself a Silver Shadow as a bit of a treat and taken the opportunity to make a short film about tyre fitment.

Useful, informative and great music choice...

I have a 1993 Bentley Turbo R which currently sits on Avons (I can't remember the exact size, but I think they are 16s). My car rides beautifully but the steering is not that sharp (although it looks better than the Shadow in your 'before' footage'). Out of interest, is there any recommended tyre upgrade for the BTR which would have similar benefits?

Thanks

Jonathan

I would have a look at the suspension before tyres - most of these cars have worn out suspension, ball joints, etc etc and many people don't realise it. A 93 BTR should be pretty sharp on OE Avon Turbospeeds.

XVS tyres aren't an upgrade, just an alternative. The XVS was available as an option when these cars were new but few people took it up. Some owners later fitted them because they lasted a bit longer but most switched back to Avons at the next tyre change. The Avon compliments the car beautifully and in terms of road noise is one of the quietest tyres ever produced. The XVS most certainly is not.
