Discussion
After selling my continental ss a couple of years ago have missed it terribly so ive sold the mrs,a kidney and all other items not screwed down to the floor and I have my dream car a new Bentley speed in tungsten with beluga.Collecting it from hr owen surrey on Thursday so watch out for a missile heading towards south west on that day. Will post some pics after I return and spend the day layering wax etc on it.

Hello,I've got a 2008 Speed - if you have a sec any chance you could elaborate on the difference between the new one and your SS?
Cheers,
Andrew

Trying to decide between 10 SS and 13 Speed. I like the performance, feel, and general idea of the SS (also I think will be much easier on my wallet in the long run) but I like the changes made in the mk2 version of the car, especially the eight speed box.
I have not driven the cars back to back, and only at different dealers, so it would be useful to hear some input from someone who had owned both

Steady on david no need to repeat yourself ha ha,sorry for delay guys been busy sorting out work etc.Ok what are the main differences between the 2011 ss and the 2016 speed, power not really that noticeable but the acceleration and gearchanges with its new gearbox is so rapid in sport mode its very noticeably quicker than the ss.Steering feels very much more positive and gives better feedback when motoring on,getting around 6 mpg more on speed which helps.Interiors have always been a lovely place to sit aand the speed does not disappoint here with its new smaller quilting and materials used.Ride is a little more crashy due to the 21" wheels and tyres but nothing I wont get used to.One thing I do miss is the carbon brakes which is an option on the speed and personally I feel the standard brakes are just not up to it when really pressing on and quite unnerving when they start to fade,so would recommend the carbon all day long.Have tried a quicksilver exhaust on the ss and this speed and personally I think the standard exhaust is perfect the qs is far too noisy.I feel Bentley have made good improvements over previous models there not hugely noticeable but there a step in the right direction and if I could get a set of carbon brakes put on I would have an excellent car, hope this helps.Do remember the 2015/16 cars have morepower than the 13/14 models.

Keep the exhaust standard and remove the middle cats, makes a lovely noise and you can still use the switchable rear silencer boxes.cheers simon sorry for short reply
