Hello everyone - advice needed please...
Discussion
I have been a member for a while but have never posted I don't think.
I am looking at buying a continental GT preferably years 2011 and 2012. With regards to future sale;
what are the desirable options to have on the car?
A lot seem to have the Beluga interior, is this desirable? I personally prefer the linen interior.
I am particularly interested in the car below, what do you guys think about the price and specs?

Go through the service history and receipts to see what has been done. Tyre pressure monitoring system? Exhaust manifold thermocouples? Correct tyres? Warranty?
Get it inspected by a Bentley main dealer for latent faults.
Good luck!
I am getting a warranty wise top cover that covers all electrical and mechanical things on the car, Hope this helps.Get it inspected by a Bentley main dealer for latent faults.

Correct tires? What should they be?
Love the colour. My Arnage T is in Black Velvet and the colour varies with the lighting conditions. In strong sunlight it comes out as deep burgundy and looks gorgeous. I assume that all the Bentley fancy blacks behave like this.
I am sure that your prospect will behave in the same way, so get them to bring it into daylight and you may get a surprise.

Thanks guys. Just been to view the car. It is amazing. The black interior is very nice although linen would look better, black is just as ok for me. I have heard about water ingress leading to corroded wiring looms, do you guys think I need a technician to go over the car?
Also has anyone any experience with warranty wise so far?

Hi,
Just my own experience in the three months I've had my car. YMMV.
When buying a Conti there are lots of cars for sale, if you want a particular spec, chances are it'll come along soon enough. Prices seem to be fairly constant. If a car is not on the price curve there will be a good reason for it.
I would prefer to buy from a Bentley dealer unless there was a compelling reason not to (I didn't by the way).
Make sure the history and warranty is watertight. You can't beat a Bentley warranty but you'll have to pay for it. Any warranty where the work is not done by Bentley, forget it - especially if you're paying north of £60k. I stumped up for a three year Bentley warranty as it made economic sense to me but it might not to other people. Any decent dealer should let your car go to Bentley for an inspection. If Bentley inspect it and then offer you a warranty chances are it's a good car.

Enjoy!

Thanks a lot for your advice. The only reason I chose not to buy from a main dealer is because of the price difference. As a point of note;
2012 Onyx from a main dealer, NO MDS, 22,500 miles - £87,850
2012 onyx from indep, MDS, convenience specification, 8,800 miles - £88,900 with one year warranty wise warranty (04/40 - all electrical and mechanical covered)
What do you guys think? Make sense?
