Exhaust manifold temperature

For the second time in 4 years, the thermocouple that detects the temperature in number 1 bank of the exhaust manifold has packed up. I have learned that this is not an uncommon event at £500 a time at Bentley prices. While my car was being diagnosed, there was another in the workshop with the same problem.

If I knew the specification and supplier, I'd be tempted to buy one from the original manufacturer, and keep it for next time. Does anybody know what it is and where to get one (other than from Bentley, that is!)
