Alarm not beeping

I recently put new battery on my 2002 Arnage T. Since changing it the key will lock and unlock the car but it no longer gives any beeps. Anyone know the cause?

I think the car has to be electronically matched to the key. Suggest you phone a Bentley dealer and check. Please post the answer that you get.

It turns out the starter battery (The small one on the right ) was knackered as well so I fitted a new one.

Locking still does not trigger the alarm beep but after a few hours the alarm starts beeping of its own accord ( not the full alarm sound)

The dealer could not check out the faults record because of the faulty battery so I shall have to take it back to him next week.

Anybody else had this random beeping? I understand there is a separate independent battery in the alarm ystem and perhaps this has failed.

It was indeed the integral battery that had failed and as the siren is a sealed unit it needed total replacement. £420!! Some interesting advice that I was given was to always lock the car when not being used for a period as this switches off some of the memory circuits and reduces drain.

You can usually open these up and replace the batter for a few quid. Always worth a look. I have done this job on a number of cars over the years with great success.

Oh that I had the technical ability to do that. I understand that you have to remove the right hand wheel and a panel to remove the siren and then you would have to start fiddling with the battery. I have no suitable Indies near me so I have to rely on the dealer for some things, but at least it comes back after a top notch valet inside and out.
