In a rush this morning I had to move the CGT as we have some building materials being delivered today. So I jump in, start it (even in a rush I had to savour the moment) and park it out of the way. Walking away from the car I noticed the cable of the Bentley trickle charger hanging out of the boot. So not only have I done that but it means I started it whilst plugged in (possibly fried the charger with over-current??)
Fortunately I had left the interconnect between the car plug and charger outside of the car so it looks like it just pulled apart. Will have to investigate when I get home.
I feel a right fool.
Note to self - when on charge put a note over the starter button!
Please tell me I'm not the only one to have done this....

No you're not the first and you won't be the last, my mate started up the engine with the leads trailing across the engine.......
I ended up having to remove the shredded belts and a mangled battery tender which were all tightly wound up in the pulleys. What hurt was I had only replaced all the belts a week before.
Another guy I know repeatedly put the battery connections on the wrong way round, insisting on using crocodile clips because he didn't want the connector wired in permanently.
Another person with the same user name as me (ahem) left his motorbike on the tender all winter but failed to switch the mains, on resulting in a knackered battery.

My F350 truck has a "plug in", which is a block heater - but 110v. So I had it plugged into a transformer.
You guessed, started up the truck and moved it OVER the transformer! Split the case and sand everywhere. yes, sand. Those yellow site transformers are filled with sand......
Not to mention a very loud bang from all the shorted wires.....
