Hi All,

I'm about to acquire a -07 Phantom EWB with Theatre rear seat configuration in two weeks time. I was wondering, if any of you knew, if the rear seat configuration was possible to switch to the Lounge. I don't like the Theatre seats, but the car is so cheap, that I just can't let it go. I've spoken to a RR specialist, but they didn't know, and asked me to turn to a main dealer. I will do that too, but maybe this topic creates some interesting discussion as well. Thanks for your comments!

I would imagine that it is possible but I think the cost of it would make it as expensive as a car already in that config. To give you an idea - I wanted to replace the rear seat base leather cover and the cost was £2500 from a dealer. That was just the cover, not the cushion itself so I can see this ending up costing £000's. I doubt you could sell the theatre seats either as these have a very limited appeal. My advice is either live with it or find another car.

There is bound to be someone who works at the factory on here who can explain the differences in fitting. The electrical gumph in the mid part is the biggest change I think.

Mammoth job to do, you could speak to the factory who Im sure would accommodate you but expect a bill in the tens of thousands

Sorry, but, theatre - lounge??? What the?
Seeing as I have just bought a Bentley, I feel I need to know what the hell this all means!
Any chance of some pictures to explain?

Lounge seating is a bench seat and theatre seat are individual seats with a central divide containing the fridge. It turns the car into a 4 seater therefore limiting the appeal. If you have a driver you can't take 2 couples out. Bentley have the same setup in the Spur and the 4 seat version is the kiss of death on the used market. Rolls Royce recently introduced a rear seat config where it has a bench seat but the 2 outer seats recline so giving the best of both worlds.

I dont think there is a difference in the rear of the car as far as fitting bench or businees seats
these are what you used to be called
Bench as explained above and busniness two seporate seats with middle rear console.

The only difference would be the wiring that would have had to be fed in before the carpets were fitted.
Usually its the wiring for cooler, seats (if electric) and any other options requested.
Not sure if any fault codes would show if the harness was not connected...cannot see why, again depends on the rear seat options.

So to me, removing the rear configuration and refitting in the bench seats is doable.

Also, interesting about the cost to replace the leather.
RR use natural grain.
What about using lavalina Nappa in the same colour, grain etc from the same supplier obtaned by a place in the UK for a perfect match.

I should stick with Theatre: Lounge sounds frightfully bourgeois.
