Just wanted to say what an interesting and very entertaining read a brand new book, Inside the Rolls-Royce & Bentley Styling Department 1971 to 2001 - by Graham Hull who was chief Stylist at RR&B

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Inside-Rolls-Royce-Bentley...

I was away on holiday for a week recently and virtually read the whole book. Anyone interested in these cars, and anyone interested in the internal workings of a unique organisation, will love this book.

The book was delivered yesterday for half price via Amazon.

While I found it interesting and entertaining, I was disappointed there were not as many pictures and graphics as hoped.

There weren't much information on the Sultan of Brunei's specials as they contributed quite a lot to Vicker's bottom line.

I know what you mean, although there is a whole chapter on the oddities of the 1990's and the special commission cars. It's interesting to note, however, that it's not confirmed in the book that they were for the Sultan, although it is common knowledge a lot of these cars were. But there is the suggestion that the Sultan was not the only person indulging in these specials.

It is nevertheless a fascinating read and I wonder if more had been included about the specials, it could have been outside the scope of the book.
