Hi
I am looking to buy an Arnage, around 2001/2 year up to £35k in value. Has anybody purchased a car from these guys and if so. would you recommend them ?
They seem to carry as good selection. Particularly the 2001 Arnage le mans @ £32k
Anything in particular I need to look for on this age of Arnage =- obviously I want a FSH etc but what else is likely to be an issue ?
Any pointers would be fantastic.

Your first stop should be the PH buyers guide

Your suggested year puts you right on the cusp of model changes. The first Arnage was the Green Label with a 4 litre engine. Not that quick but cheaper to operate. Following customer pressure the car was fitted with the traditional 6.75litre engine in the Red Label In late 2001 both these were abandoned in favour of the T and R there were many improvements particularly in the area of engine management. If you want to go fast then choose the T. See

For lesser performance but cheaper running cost the choose the R
I have no experience of Hanwells but would suggest a pre purchase inspection wherever you buy from.
Happy hunting

Not only that, but I do suggest you go with a 2002 or better. I have been given to understand that there were major changes as far as the engine is concerned for the 2002 model. One way to tell is that the updated version has a serpentine belt instead of a whole bunch of V-belts to power all the equipment.
I would echo Paul's comments. Buy a car you like but after you get it inspected first. I'd recommend someone like Nigel Sandell (who works on my cars) or Frank Dale's (who inspected my Shadow) to undertake an inspection first, then you can make an informed decision. If you search for 'Hanwells' on this forum you'll (I think) find someone who did buy from them and from recollection they were from Liverpool or somewhere in the NW.
If you have a look at

I bought a Turbo R 96 from them a few years ago, it was bought without viewing, was perfect on delivery and they were a delight to deal with. It developed a slightly loose drivers seat that was dealt with by a northern indie who collected the car - I would have no issues buying a car from them.
