I'd like to be able to use my i pod in a Bentley Continental GT. What are my best options? Can Bentley retro fit something or is kit a load of hassle? I've got quite a good singing voice so all is not lost but if the missus starts singing I'm in trouble.

Cheers

Your best bet is to ask a car audio specialist. There are several kits on the market. Some connect direct with a socket in the glove box and some can add the complete phone link. Dice used to do one but it has been discontinued.
This may help

The dealer has a kit that will interact with the iApple device. Dice also makes two different units that work as well. Odds are you want the Dice MediaBridge MBR-1502-AVW (Dice MediaBridge for the VW) and it can be very hard to find since it is no longer in production. It also adds Bluetooth functionality for hands-free voice for modern phones. Note that you will not be able to use the multi-CD changer with the Dice unit as it uses that hookup to work.

The dealer-supplied unit works with the changer so you have access to both inputs and the dealer unit is probably still available. Install of the Bentley unit is very easy and takes them about an hour.

Just bought a GT and had the same issue of what to do. I ended up having the factory iPod plug in installed not a cheap option but haggled a bit on price and got it for £450 fitted. It's had a pouch to hold an iPhone or iPod and a iPhone lead along with a USB lead works with the CD section and you can control on the steering wheel. Will not show track titles and unable to look for tracks under artists or albums but as a retrofit factory option better than having someone splice up your wires on your Bentley! And it's the factory part

Vet, not sure if you knew this yet the Dice is 'plug and play' without any wire splicing. You use the iApple device's touchscreen to change tracks, playlists, genre, albums, etc just like normal iApple device use.

Looks a good feature I have not seen this offered before, looks like its for the American market as Sirus is the american satellite network but it If works even better in the UK. The factory does work and at least it better than nothing.

Vet, Dice/Audiovox makes a non-Sirus equipped unit, which is what I use and works worldwide. In a few days you may find the factory unit is very frustrating to use in choosing music selections and lacked sound quality (especially as compared to the Dice MediaBridge). The Dice price is also far less than the factory unit too. Just trying to help as have all three iApple interfaces so tried them all (two different Dice/Audiovox and the factory unit you now have). As a musician, HD audio/video engineer/broadcaster and high fidelity enthusiast simply wanted the best sound considering what was there to work with from the factory audio system... without the vast cost of re-engineering a totally new audio chain from source to speakers. Hopefully you can find the Dice unit to try and would enjoy hearing your thoughts/comparisons.
