Evening, been lurking as I recently had the GT go ahead from the OH so am looking.smile
Found a nice car local to me at Phantom Motors in Crondall.
I know the guys have a good rep and I enjoyed talking to Simon. Went out in an 04 car and it was all I expected with the one exception, at approx 50 mph and on a light throttle the gearbox was "hunting" between 2 gears. Is that normal? Simon suggested that selecting one or the other manually would solve it but I'm not sure I except that solution in what was a £100k car.
Has anyone else experienced this or is it a gearbox glitch. ( I have no other experience in one of these cars to compare)

If you were to buy a car from a well known dealer I am sure they would warrant that the issue you talk about, is not an issue - and if it turned out to be a problem, fix it.

I would go and drive another couple of cars and compare though.

I'm sure they would look after you if there was a problem, but drive a few more to see how they compare for peace of mind. If there's any doubt, forget that car and pick another, they're not exactly rare or exclusive.

I pottered at about 50 in my 2004 GT over the week end and did not experience any hunting between gears. In fact the gear changes are almost imperceptible. Set the cruise control and see what happens next time you do a test drive.
