Completely gutted. Last year in May, my GT was stolen from in front of the house. It was parked outside only for one night whilst the garage got a full cleaning. In November then I convinced myself that I cannot live without a GT and bought a V8 which I truly loved.

Yesterday morning I get into the garage and the car is gone. On the video you see the b*stards working for an hour to prep the car in order to calmly drive it out of the garage. They were real "professionals" who had planned this for a while. All the talks of Bentley that they have upgraded security have been proved wrong.

Since my first car was stolen last year I learned that there many more GTs were stolen in the neighbourhood. It appears that there is a massive market for such cars...

Given that I have been very careful where I drive the car and where I park it, I see no way how to avoid this in the future. As much as I loved my V8 I struggle to motivate myself into buying another one just yet

Sorry for the rant but...

I'm very sorry to hear about your trouble. What part of the country do you live in and were they able to bypass the tracker / immobiliser etc. I have had a couple of false alarms with the tracker, when I drove off without the fob and was alarted by the company immediately. It's very worrying that they can just drive it away.

Must have been extremely professional to avoid all that and even the tracker....suprised they didnt break in and steal the keys! Just out of curiosity buddy what year was your bentley and did your insurance company pay out the exact purchase price? Am curious as I have never heard of or experienced a theft with such a high value car and given my niggles with small miniscule claims - cant imagine how insurance companies would faff around to try to avoid/reduce this one!

Thanks for your kind words.

I'm living in the allegedly so safe Switzerland. The car did not have a tracker as it didn't come as standard.

The first car they stole was a first gen GT. There you could to drill a small hole into the driver's door panel and then do some clever stuff to override the security mechanisms. This exposure was eliminated with the second generation

The one they stole this Monday was a July 12 GTV8. The police claimed that the thieves would not have been able to simply drive the car out of the garage given the security systems. Well, the video showed that these guys found a new trick to do so...

The tracker system comes as standard on the UK spec cars, but you must pay a subscription to renew it again after the first 12 months, it's currently about £300 I believe.

Worth the money. I was surprised it did not come as standard...
