handbrake holding

can anyone help?

I have a clients Bentley flying spur, which I have just changed the battery on and had everything reset, all ok, returned the car the following day and all ok, left the car for a week and the car started but the handbrake wouldn't release!

It happened on ours recently I'll have a look at what was changed and report back. It wasn't hugely expensive from memory.
