Anyone tried any of the various film protectors, if so do they work and any recommendations.

If you drive the car with a bit of oomph stone chips are inevitable!!

Hi there.

I have a full body protection on my r8 v10 and gtc speed. I take my cars abroad for some spirited driving. I can 100% say that these covers are worth the cost! Not only negron the jealous types who try and scratch your car but from all possible driving scenarios, stones etc.

Nothing more satisfying to see the plastic scratched knowing that underneath your paint is like new.

I've had it the covers on for 3 years now. In very hot climates direct sun etc and no discolouring!

Thanks for the reply. What did you use as I understand there are various types on the market, who did it and what sort of cost, please.

I had almost full cover Paintshield Film (not the roof) on my Porsche 997 GT2 from new - cost 2k. But was never a chip or scrape showing in 4 years, just started to haze in several places, especially at the rear, about the time that I sold the car.
Porsche & Aston's paint is notoriously soft compared to the Bentley paint.

Thanks Hog for the endorsement, I've just got a quote from Paintshield for my new GTC, just having the standard coverage after speaking to several satisfied customers and the Detailer that I use.
