Just come back from a 2000 mile tour to the South of France in my Arnage T. What an experience! We took three days to get down there, taking in the Route Napoleon and the Gorge De Verdun. Magnificent roads and breath taking scenery. Even on the motorways the experience is awesome, cruising at 95-100 with the best "cruise control" I have had on any vehicle. The days of cruising at 130 are now behind me since I found out that the Gendarmerie can confiscate you car if you are caught doing over 115 MPH. 16 MPG and a terrific pose factor even among the Ferraris and Lmborghinis!
I recommend the purchase of a French motorway tag which saves all the hassle at the peage and they do not time your tickets between tolls.
This is what these cars were made for. I recommend you put it on your list of "Things to do before I die"

I have done this trip three times - twice in my Mulsanne S Mk II and once in my Continental GT. Hitherto I have not used the French toll roads, preferring to use rural 'D' roads and mountain hairpins. Sometimes we were so far off the beaten track that we only had one hotel to stay in, with no choice. Invariably these were small family run auberges that offered home cooked local dishes and exceptional value for money. Combine your drive with a week end at the Monaco Historic Grand Prix in early May, and you can not only have a memorable drive - you can also blow some serious money when you get there.
Best wishes,
David.

I have done the Historic GP a couple of times but that is with the boys. We usually stay in Villefranche and go to Monaco by train which is a bit cheaper! A pal was staying in the Fairbourne last time and they told him if he wanted the same room (overlooking the hairpin) for the F1 weekend he would have to take it for the week at 24,000 euros!
My wife came with me this time so I had a built in rev limiter. We didn't go up and down the Col de Turini this time as I didn't think her nerves could stand it.
