Hello all,

On Thursday I purchased a 56 plate GTC with 56k on the clock. I live in Leicester and drive it home from London no problems. Yesterday morning I was driving it and it flashed up 'overheating see handbook' the car also became less responsive as if it was in limp mode. The temp gauge was sat at 90 where it was when I both test drove the car and drove it home from London so it wasn't really too hot. I stopped, switched the car off and on again and it was then fine. I just drove the car a short distance and got the message again but after a short while it cleared and the car was back to normal.

Any thoughts?

These Bentleys are very sensitive to battery condition and voltage.

Find some one that can read out any error codes the car might have, the code will point to a possible cause and rectification.

If your near loch Lomond , pop over I have a Vas 5054A we could put on it.

My GT developed a tendency to display an overheating message when the gauge was normal. It would also either limp or shut down completely. Eventually it was traced to an imaginary imbalance between the exhaust manifold temperatures due to a faulty transducer.
I would strongly recommend that you put the car into a Bentley dealer and get them to bring the service history up to date, at the same time dealing with your overheating messages.
Best of luck
David.
