So, I've read the threads on here about this topic, and would like to gather your opinions - do you believe this to be a compulsory 60k / 6 year item, or is it, as one poster puts it in another thread, something that's included to give the dealership network a bit of work?

I'm looking at a couple of Arnages that are at the 60k mark which don't have this service done, and don't know whether to consider it immediately necessary or not.

The car I believe depends a lot on the hydraulic system for the self levelling suspension as well as brakes etc. I did not have mine done on time and the gas filled spheres gave up, and the suspension was hard and jiggly. After the service it was like driving a completely different car. So yes get it done at an independent lots of whom have been recommended here.

'tis a good idea to do the service at the six year mark, as these cars (at least Turbo Rs) rely on the hydraulics for braking (safety!!) and self-leveling to work properly. As for the Arnage, I'm not sure if the hydraulics play any part in the braking system or if they're conventional.

Yes its a age related service at 6 years even if the car has done low mileage, as others have said the car depends on this for suspension and braking and the rubber hoses and seals eventually perish and fail causing all sorts of problems, you might be better off looking at a car that has had it done as you then know that the previous owner has not skimped on servicing
