I’ve put my football boots on & bought a Bentley GT Speed
Discussion
I’d been after one for a while and after a couple deals fell through I finally stumbled across this lovely Tempest silver GT Speed and well its now sitting in my driveway... I actually bought the car a few months back but I’ve just been so busy I haven’t had a chance to post on here!
I’d been after a GT for a while and originally had considered an early car as I thought they looked pretty good value for money, but then I decided I really fancied a car with the mulliner pack so it would have to 2005 or later. Then upon thinking about it further I preferred the look of the 3 spoke steering wheel on the Speed, oh and the extra HP was no bad thing... So a Speed it would have to be! Anyway one thing led to another and after a couple months searching I finally settled on this car. A lovely Tempest Silver with Beluga GT Speed. I bought it down south and drove all the way up to Aberdeen from London in it. The journey (despite horrific gridlock traffic due to an accident that last about 4 hours ) was effortless. I arrived home about midnight and I can hand on my heart say I would have been quite happy to drive all the way back down again. I set cruise control, switched on my massaging seats (how ridiculous really!) and just let the miles pass.
So far everything has been great, except me curbing the passenger side wheel whilst trying to avoid an oncoming truck! Brilliant car and will definitely be a keeper. I’m getting the car detailed next week so I’ll get some proper pictures up soon. In the mean time please excuse the sloppy iphone pics.
Thanks to everyone who answered all my questions about them, it was really helpful!
Congrats!!! Have a silver one too and agree with V8TVR. In fact had a GT for years and drive it sun, rain, deep New England (USA) snow to the tune of 8k miles/year yet work @ home. Then it came time for a new car. During my life have never enjoyed a convertible; thus went car shopping. Looked at various brands/models and in the end knew the right choice was.... a GTC. Once you have lived with a Bentley it is quite obvious why they are so desirable, and so hard to live without.

Great choiceJust been pointed to this thread by a piss taking friend
I've had my Tempest silver GTC Speed for a couple of months now and went through virtually the exact same thought process as the OP
After a 250 mile journey yesterday to see my Morgan at the factory and a stop at Shelsley Walsh up the hill (not on the GTC, they wouldn't let me as it was a Morgan day) the Bentley simply shone at what a great all round car it is! The best I've ever owned in that respect.
As for the 'footballer' image, all I can say is what a load of tosh, as I was saying just that to its previous owner Andy Gray (ex-Aston Villa and Scotland)

Right everyone terribly sorry for the delay I've just been so busy recently haven’t had a chance to upload them. Here they are.
This was the next morning after I'd driven it up from London. So nice and dirty as you can see
The Car is absolutely immaculate and it’s brilliant. Just insanely fast especially when you remember how heavy it is. Was out for lunch today and had 2 adults in the back who seemed to be pretty comfortable. My favourite things o far though are the massaging seats...they’re brilliant!
