Hi Guys,

I'm in the market for a unmolested early LHD T1.

What are the pitfalls? Think I've found a rather mint lhd example at 14.000euro's. Have not seen it in the flesh though.

Hope it's not a scam... What do you experts think?

Thanks,
Filip

On the face of it it sounds too cheap, as I believe Lhd cars are more expensive than rhd. The only way to know for sure is to see it in the flesh, not pay any funds over until you have seen it and checked the credentials ie not stolen, written off etc and had it checked by a knowledgeable mechanic. Sorry if that sounds obvious! I don't think Lhd cars are any different to rhd from a "things to look at perspective", so a search on here for shadow buying tips or on the rroc(Australia) website will be fruitful.
Have fun and good luck! .

Hi,

is it the one for sale at Hazet in Holland ?

http://www.hazet.nl/index.php?option=com_wrapper&a...

If so, at first sight the engine bay doesn't look as it has seen a lot of recent maintenance and the wood will need revarnishing.
Have you already seen the car ?

Definitely make sure the rear (and front, if still intact) leveling systems are functioning and not leaking (!!). Also, it would be wise to verify that the climate control servo motors are working as those are fiendishly expensive to sort. Too bad you weren't looking for your LHD T1 back in '03/'04...that's when I sold mine and it took forever as most folks here in the US want a Shadow over a T-series.

Also remember that the early T1s (with the 6250cc engine & the 'Chippendale' Dashboard) didnt have a/c as standard

No' it's not that one. The one I was referring to looks very tidy in- and outside. Have requested pictures of engine compartment and chassis but haven't received anything so far. Nor does anyone answer my calls or mails...

Doesn't look good...

Sorry guys, I'm afraid it's a scam as they're bringing up free transport, no viewing, quick sale, illness, ... The lot. bds!!!shootmadmadmadredcard

Didn't the displacement change to the 6,750cc by the time the SY chassis came out?
