Hi guys , new to pistonheads.

I like many people have never been a fan of the Continental GT mainly due to it having too many VW parts and its lack of presence compared to the Continental R/T models it replaced.

I have been thinking that if a rr/ bentley specialist or high end conversion company carried out some modifications to make it a bit more like older Bentleys like the Continental R they could do good business !

They could supply used converted vehicles ( prices are low as there are too many on the market ) or modify customers cars. Improvements could be made to address some of the Continental GT's flaws. Here is some of my rough ideas - nothing too detailed , please add your own ways you think the cars could be improved.

fit better window seals and change tyre sizes to address road noise problems.

fit different shocks/ springs as well as tyres to address ride quality issues.

offer chrome/ silver option interior as was in T model Arnages/ Continentals

fit different grille and chrome pack to exterior.

if it is changes to things that matter, then I think you may have a point.

But if its a change to anything that you can see from the outside, you're just going to look like a chav

Really not sure there's anything bad about noise/ride, although fitting smaller wheels/higher profile tyres maybe an okay idea - my winter 19" wheels/tyres are a nicer ride than the 20" std speed wheels. The Continental GT is thoroughly engineered to be like it is, not really a sensible approach to try to change it.

To get what you want it's far better to take a Continental T/R and make some subtle handling/ride/audio upgrades to that to bring it up to date, then enjoy it as it becomes a true classic.
