Hi All,

Recently sent the TRL for an MOT and need to get a new Avon 255 55 R17 102w Tyre. Anyone can advise any suppliers, preferably London. Checked on line, circa £300 +! Does that sound right?

Another point was raised in the MOT:

The Rear suspension, the self levelling has been disconnected, im told that the rear suspension is not working and its hard.

Can any one advise me as to this?

thanks.

xto,

sounds like the nitrogen spheres are dead. About 100 quid each, plus fitting.

Phantom Motors, down near Guildford. Cannot recommend strongly enough.

I took my RT down there for a service. They hadnt seen the car before, so suggested taking it for a test drive first. We hadnt left the forecourt when Simon said "You arent planning on driving this home, are you? The rear suspension is seized and it needs new nitrogen spheres"

They v kindly dropped other work and did it immediately, so it was safe to drive.

Unconditional recommendation from me, and from others on here.

Mine was disconnected when I changed the front bags to struts. It was also a 96 RL so maybe my old car?

if the hydraulics are disconnected, i would wonder what else had been screwed around with. sounds like someone didnt want to pay the cost of the full hydraulic service and decided to "cut their losses" (literally!)
