'Coming Home' function?

Gents, I can't seem to get the 'coming home' (or whatever it's called, that was Porsche terminology) function tuned into my remote control for the electric gates and garages on an 07 Spur.

Is this known to be a particular pain in the ass or am I just being inept?

Any suggestions/advice/pointers....or does it mean yet another Dealer assisted trip to do something menial?

They don't work on all gates so don't get your hopes up too high.

thought it was just a matter of syncing the remote? they are all IR anyways, no?

"Coming home" function: I like to think that this is button you press, as you climb into the car after a hard day's work, that alerts wife to put the dinner on.

It would really be effective if it also got her to "slip into something more comfortable"!!!
