Gents, what is the solution to getting an iPod lead connected up to work with the system fitted to an 07 Spur ?

Easy enough Dealer tweak or specialist ICE outfit job?

Can it be done full stop ?

Have a 07 GTC and have used both the DICE unit (in a 2006 GT) and now using the Bentley version in the 07. Frankly, while I like the ability to change tracks using the steering wheel with the Bentley unit in the 07... BUT...

The DICE unit in the 06 drawback means you need to iTouch/iPad/iPhone near you to change tracks BUT you get FULL control (tracks, genre, Genius, playlists, etc.).

The Bentley unit means you use some wonky CD Disc # button to change playlists or ??? , but you never see TEXT of what you are really choosing. Also, seems to have limited choices, thus of course you are flying blind and have no choices for ALL your generas, no genius, etc.).

Between the two, the DICE is the way to go IMHO provided you have a place to put your iPod/iTouch/etc. Hope this helps.

Both are literally plug and play. The DICE unit only needs to have you remove the CD changer to access it's rear wiring plug. Any car audio place can remove it, tell them to use the SONY keys on the side to remove it. Takes about 10 seconds, maybe 15 on a bad day.

Ok thanks, but will that solution leave me with no CD player and the iPod sat in the glovebox where I can't access it easily whilst driving to change tracks etc?

And no control over track changing from the car?

Dice solution means having the player near you, thus easy control via the iDevice's touchscreen. And yes, Dice means no CD player. Not sure about Sat radio (XM Radio, etc) control as never used it.

BTW, if you go Dice you can also stream Pandora, Songza, etc from the iDevice to/through the Bentley.

I have just acquired an Arnage T 2002. Which has a Grundig radio and multi cd changer.Any ideas for hooking up an ipod. I am prepared to sacrifice the cd changer.

Thread resurrection.

Has anyone been able to sort a workaround for an MY07 Spur to allow iphone connectivity for music.

Had an Jag XJ LWB Supersport on demo last week and it simply connected to my iphone and streamed music from it over bluetooth, would love to find an upgrade to do the same on the Spur.

To add..

Bentley have told me to expect to pay £1200 + vat for the bluetooth upgrade to support iPhones.
Apparently it involves a new ECU!!

This is a post I put on the Arnage ipod topic

I have finally got my ipod connected to my 2002 Arnage T.

My ICE man did it with a Celsus IPV connector. They do not list Bentley on their compatability charts but I believe that the one that works is the model for a Mercedes Smart Car.

It connects instead of the multi cd changer and can be fully controlled from the ipod. You can control the volume and channel change from the head unit.

As a refinement, If you set the ipod to play a playlist you can change to the next playlist up by changing disc on the head unit, but once you have played the maximum of 6 playlists you have to reset the ipod.

You can still play single discs through the head unit.

It cost £200 including fitting

I think you need a good ice man and save a grand
