My 2004 GT has recently developed a fault whereby every time I start the engine it asks me to reset the tyre pressures in the TPMS. I only do this when the tyres are cold & when I do so the system recognises the new pressures after a few miles & all is fine. However, when I stop the car & restart it again I get the same message. Any ideas?

Could be the batteries getting weak in the sensors.

Thanks. Is it easy to replace the batteries (i.e DIY) or is it a garage job?

Unfortunately you are looking at a garage job as tyres are removed. Dependant on the year of your gt I was reliably informed that up until around 2006'the were the Same as the Audi tpms which are about 50% cheaper.

If you take it to bentley you are looking at £100-150 per sensor to supply and fit.

Interesting post...my friend with a CGT has just told me of a possible problem with the TPMS that the local tyre place said would be £200 to fix. If there is an Audi equivalent part. ...then happy days. A timely response above - thanks thumbup

Yes this fault is associated with battery life, which can be checked via diagnosis. Voltage as well as life is stored. Worth having it checked before buying anything as TPMS ecu's can play up on earlier cars.
