Early Ts suffer from tappet issues by all accounts. Also leather and general interior quality not as good as the later cars.

If you search for Marlow cars on this forum I think the consensus was that they're a fair bunch.
Why don't you get Nigel Sandell to inspect it? He's in isleworth so not a million miles away?
I thought it had to be a 4.4 for emission rules?

Indeed it has. Missed the black emerald 4.4 at Hanwells.

The one with "Hermes" (=dark london tan) leather, as they called it.

For some reason, I very much prefer the traditional leather seat pattern, the brighter wood and the white dials of the standard Arnage.

Here's a reason not to...

Becuase for just a few grand more, you can get one far newer with far fewer miles on it like this...

Or ....

The navy blue one is nice...but this is now already 7k above my intial Arnage budget of 20k, which in turn is 5k above my 97/98 Turbo R budget which in turn is 5k above my 1993/94 Brooklands budget.

Meh, that's man maths for you!

I started looking at £20k Arnages, which turned into £30k Arnages......then into £60k GTCs

I was actually quite surprised that noone wanted to talk me into the post-2005 MY facelifted cars, or rare editions of the Conti R, or a New Phantom....yet.

Seriously: 6 owners, high milage...

I just think that for relatively little more money, you get a much nicer / newer thing, that one doens't look particularly cheap to me.

If you want to stick closer to budget......

Or avoid all the engine worries, save some fuel and go....

I can't see where it says it's sold?

How much can it cost to retrim a steering wheel?

Seriously, the wrong shade of blue externally and internally. and the condition of the steering wheel does not match the mileage.

The first one was on autotrader and the ad was updated by the seller as "now sold"

6 owners would not be that unusual on a 12 year old car of this type.

Green labels are as old as the hills now, I wouldnt be put off by athe number of ownes if the condition was correct.

My 355 was 4 years old and had 5 owners when I bought it. Don't forget a lot of these cars attract dreamers when they are new and expensive. As long as the service history is bang on, the amount of owners doesn't matter in my view.

Don't forget some cars have just one owner ...... HERTZ

A friend of mine bought a 360 with one F1 racing owner. Damon Hill. Turns out it was actually P1 and the car was bloody aweful.

I would much rather buy a well used car that has been maintained rather than a low miler.

ok, so any particular thoughts regarding the green T?

It has a pretty basic/conservative spec, with non-split-rim wheels, no alloy dashboard etc.

Not sure which car you refer to. The green one in the link has he alloy dash. Do you have a link?
