Bentley servicing schedule
Discussion
Hi,I am new to this forum, so hi everyone.
I am thinking of buying an early 90's Bentley and I'm trying to find information on A,B and C services. I would like to know what actually needs doing and whether I could undertake these things myself (I'm pretty good with the spanners).
It would be nice to have a checklist. I understand the usual fluid changes etc for the engine and hydraulics, but is there anything else more specific to these cars that require special tools etc.
Thanks.

Somewhere on the web there was a great synopsis of the complete service schedule but I'll be damned if I can remember where I saw it. Short of that, bell a Bentley main agent and ask if they will print out the service schedule for you. Good luck, they are fine cars! I've had three and am teeing up for my fourth perhaps soon!
There are 8 annual schedules labelled 1 to 8 with an intermediate C schedule in between, and repeat. So at sixteen years old a car with full RR/B service history would have had schedules 1 through 8 done in the correct order, twice. Schedules 4 and 8 are big ones and were often skipped by even the most wealthy of owners back in the day. I doubt there are many cars out there that have ever seen a schedule 8 once, let alone twice or more.

Schedule 4 & 8 Services would appear to have been an attempt by Bentley to give their franchised dealers a nice little future earner on all cars sold! Trouble is they fell due when most wealthy first owners have sold cars on to peasants like me who can't afford to replace a load of parts which are working perfectly well!Gassing Station | Bentley & Rolls Royce | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
