Bentley Turbo R Gearbox Isues

I have owned my Bentley Turbo R Since Mar 2010 a beautiful example with all the Mulliner upgrades, bought it off ebay but viewed it at Broughtons of Cheletnham before negotiating, it has FSH Bentley up to purchase and specialists since, I use the car on a regulat basis and do on average aboout 5000 miles a year, shortly after purchase i had an issue with the gearbox and a reconditioned gearbox was put in,that was about 10000 miles ago, in July the car was taken to a specialist for its annual service on collecting the Bently i realised after pulling away that is was stuck in gear and would not change i took it staright back and left it with the garage, transpires that the clutch drum was cracked and replace, driving away form the garage the car drove perfect after 10 miles the same issue has arisen, the garage are collecting the car onb Monday to investigate< i was wondering iof anyone has had the same issue in the past?
It might be worth copying your post and starting again in the Rolls Royce & Bentley section of Pistonheads.
I'm sure that it would be reasonable to expect that your gearbox should remain serviceable for longer than 10,000 miles. See what the garage concludes is the problem and how they intend to remedy the matter.
Is the gearbox used by any other cars?

the gearbox as far as i am aware is a GM 400 gearbox used on a number of american cars also jagusr used it for the xjsI'm sure that it would be reasonable to expect that your gearbox should remain serviceable for longer than 10,000 miles. Surely a new/reconditioned box should last longer than 10k and as the car was in working order when it went into the garage for a routine service surely it is no unreasonable to suggest that the garage may have buggered something up during the service?

It's the kitchen sink routine, since you serviced my car the gearbox has a fault. Admittedly if it's the same garage that fitted the recon gearbox then it should last more than 10,000 miles but thats obviously a different matter.

A G.M. Turbo-Hydramatic 400, as used in Jaguar V12 - 5.3 cars, or;
A G.M. 4L85E if a 4-speed, as used in Jaguar 6-litre cars and the 6-cylinder XJR
Both pretty darn common, especially over the other side of the pond. Summit racing have a rebuild 400 in stock for $1295 and a brand-new 4L85 for $3600
